Are you renovating, extending or building a brand-new home?

A new building must have its structural members protected against the concealed entry of subterranean termites in accordance with the Australian Standard AS 3660.1-2000
We can provide you with options to suit your needs and budget, Including
• Chemical soil barriers
• Physical barriers - HomeGuard
• Slab penetration shields/collars
• Termite reticulation systems
Fighting a termite infestation is more complex than preventing one from taking hold. By the time you discover these pests, they may have caused serious damage. Along with being a legal requirement, a pre-construction termite barrier is the best way to prevent termites from gaining a foothold in your house.
Affordable Pest Control carries out a free site inspection that gives us an idea of how susceptible to termites your house will be and what termite barrier designed for new construction sites will be most effective. Contact us today and keep your home safe from these voracious pests. Whether you're looking to protect your home, business or warehouse from termites and other pests, we are the company you can trust.
We prefer a combination of chemical barriers and a physical termite barrier for new construction work. This provides long-lasting termite protection for you and your property at a level that simply isn’t possible to achieve with only post-construction termite barriers.

FAQs
Pre-construction termite proofing is the strategic use of shields or membranes, termite baiting, and reticulating systems to keep a new building safe from termites. Pre-construction termite barriers are far superior to chemical termite baiting only as they prevent termites from establishing a colony in your home. By preventing an infestation you can avoid the extreme structural damage that termites are capable of causing in a short time, as well as the high costs of fighting a termite infestation and repairing the building.
Most of our pre-construction termite barriers last up to 25-50 years or the design life of the building, meaning your home or property will get as close to lifelong protection as possible. The exact duration of your pre-construction termite barrier will vary depending on which systems you choose to employ and how the ground and surrounding environment develops over the years. One thing is for sure, you can’t give a better chance to your development to remain termite-free than by investing in a pre-construction termite barrier.
Termite-proofing a new construction is done through a combination of chemical soil barriers, physical barriers, and termite reticulation systems. Chemical barriers kill foraging termites. A physical pre-construction termite barrier like the Homeguard Termite Management System stops termites from entering your house undetected, and a reticulation system is a set of underground piping designed to provide ongoing protection against termites. The exact methods used to termite-proof your build will vary depending on the site, the likelihood of a nearby termite colony, and the budget you have available. Get in touch for more details!
